About the event

The Afghanistan Law and Political Science Association (ALPA) invites submissions for its 2024 Annual Conference: Law, Society, and Politics in Afghanistan: Prospects for Dialogue, Inclusion, and Representation. This hybrid event will convene Afghan and international experts to address critical legal and socio-political challenges in Afghanistan under the Taliban and beyond. The conference aims to reconnect experts, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages research and expands the literature on Afghanistan.

The theme, "Law, Society, and Politics in Afghanistan: Prospects for Dialogue, Inclusion, and Representation," centers on the critical examination of Afghanistan's evolving legal and political framework. This academic conference provides a platform for researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to engage in discussions that explore the challenges and opportunities for fostering inclusive dialogue and representation. The goal is to develop scholarly insights that reflect the diverse aspirations of the Afghan people, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-driven approach to address the nation's pressing socio-political issues.

Interested scholars are invited to submit abstracts on any aspect of Afghanistan's legal, social, and political development. The 2024 ALPA Annual Conference will offer a valuable opportunity for scholars to meet and discuss questions of common interest, fostering a deeper understanding and collaboration on issues affecting Afghanistan.
