Imagining & Reimagining Afghanistan

The panel "Imagining and Reimagining Afghanistan" will explore two critical themes: First, the discussion will examine colonial and external narratives that have shaped global perceptions of Afghanistan. We will focus on identifying and understanding the stereotypes, biases, and misconceptions prevalent in dominant global literature influenced by colonial powers. The second theme addresses the challenge of redefining Afghanistan through factual, indigenous perspectives, experiences, and visions. Our goal is to present a multidimensional view of Afghanistan, emphasizing its agency and moving beyond oversimplified and stereotypical representations.
