Jessup Summer School 2026

The Afghanistan Jessup Summer School 2026, organized by the International Law Students Association (ILSA), was conducted from August 2 to August 30, 2026, for the selected participants of the Afghanistan Jessup Program.

The Summer School was designed to provide participants with comprehensive preparation for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Throughout the month-long program, participants received structured training from experienced instructors, legal professionals, and Jessup alumni.

Training Sessions

The Summer School covered the major components and skills required for successful participation in the Jessup Competition. The training sessions included:

·      Legal Research

·      Legal Writing

·      Oral Advocacy

·      Advocacy and Presentation Skills

·     Reading and Analyzing the Jessup Compromis

·      Memorial Writing and Argumentation

·      Legal Reasoning and Application of International Law

The sessions combined substantive knowledge with practical guidance to help participants develop the skills necessary for both the written and oral components of the competition. Attendance at all Summer School sessions was mandatory. Participants were expected to attend each session on time and actively engage in the training.

Throughout the program, participants were regularly provided with session schedules, meeting links, reminders, and relevant information. Attendance was also monitored, and follow-ups were conducted where necessary to encourage consistent participation. The successful implementation of the Summer School involved continuous coordination with ILSA representatives, instructors, Jessup alumni, coaches, and participants.

The coordination responsibilities included communicating schedules and session information, sharing meeting links and materials, sending reminders, monitoring attendance, following up with participants and coaches, coordinating with instructors and alumni, and maintaining documentation of the training sessions.
