July 1, 2025 marked a significant moment for the ALPA Academy of Liberal Arts, as students, faculty, and guests gathered virtually to celebrate the Academy’s latest cohort of graduates. The event, filled with hope and pride, showcased the remarkable achievements of students who have worked tirelessly to advance their education despite the unique challenges faced by Afghan learners today.
Dr. Bashir Mobasher, the President of ALPA, who delivered the opening speech, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates. He spoke passionately about the transformative power of education and the courage and perseverance displayed by ALPA’s students. His remarks captured the spirit of the day—a spirit of resilience, learning, and forward momentum.
This academic year, ALPA offered nearly 40 diverse classes across disciplines, including several hybrid courses that connected Afghan students with American peers in joint learning environments. These innovative hybrid classes have become a cornerstone of the Academy’s approach, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and academic collaboration.

While most students at the ALPA Academy of Liberal Arts remain on the diploma track, this ceremony recognized approximately 30 students who earned Certificates of Completion—a significant milestone that reflects both their dedication and the Academy’s commitment to high-quality, accessible education.
During the celebration, several students took the opportunity to thank the Academy and their teachers for providing outstanding courses and support. They shared their perspectives as beneficiaries of the program and offered thoughtful suggestions on how to further improve courses and expand opportunities for future students. Their feedback reflects the strong sense of community and shared purpose that defines ALPA.
Looking ahead, ALPA is embracing its growth with plans to revise its admissions process for the upcoming fall semester. These changes are aimed at creating more opportunities, expanding course offerings, and ensuring even greater inclusivity and academic support for students pursuing their educational goals.
Congratulations to all the graduates and to the ALPA community for continuing to build pathways of learning and hope. The future shines bright for these scholars and for the Academy’s ongoing mission to empower Afghan learners, wherever they are.
